5 charging habits that add 40 km to your day
Small changes in how — and when — you plug in. Your battery, and your wallet, will notice by Friday.
Range anxiety is mostly a planning problem wearing a scary mask. Five habits took my XUV400's honest daily range from 'just about' to 'don't even think about it'.
- 1
Live in the 20–80 band
Daily topping to 100% stresses the pack and slows the last chunk to a crawl. Charge to 80 for the commute; save the full 100 for road-trip mornings. - 2
Charge slow at home, fast on the road
A cheap overnight AC trickle is kinder to the battery — and your bill — than a daily DC blast. Save fast charging for when time actually matters. - 3
Precondition while plugged in
Cool (or warm) the cabin while still on the charger. You spend the grid's electrons on comfort instead of your own range. - 4
Lift off, don't brake
Regen is free range. Reading the road and coasting into it beats slamming brakes and throwing that energy away as heat. - 5
Let the app do the maths
Wattway knows your real efficiency, not the brochure's. Trust its battery-% estimate over your gut — your gut is a pessimist.

Cost of these tips
None of this is hard. It's just knowing which small thing to do, and letting the app remember the rest. Forty kilometres is a lot of extra runway for changing almost nothing.
